loomed bright blue and beautiful as Caleb rolled
Big Red 3 into entry position. The fuel cells
were flush, he would engage the anti
gravitational engines, ease down to 30,000 feet
then "fly" Big Red 3, much like the
small atmospheric aircraft he had learned to fly
as a youngster. Landing this smooth flying
masterpiece in small quarters was no problem...
he would drop BIG RED right into Jess' landing
port. ~

"Where have ye been
lad?" An obviously happy, round faced, man
of 70 years embraced Caleb. "Ye look like ye
could use a few rounds of golf," he bellowed
as he roughed up the back of Caleb's hair.
"All too bad ye can't hit the ball as well
as ye jockey this craft." Jess jabbed as he
excitedly led him into his modest home. Caleb
walked right to the drink bar and began
investigating the stock. "Got any of that
good whiskey I brought back last year?"
Caleb almost begged. "If you brought it,
it's here, you know I can't drink that rot-gut
stuff you call good ~ an occasional glass of wine
is all I'm allowed." an obviously sorrowful
Jess whined.
Before Jess had become a self
supporting missionary he had developed a problem
with fermented spirits. These days he only allows
himself an occasional glass of wine to prove that
he can take it or leave it. Quite obviously Jess
is an unusually determined man. He said, it
was all due to his relationship with Alpha. Those
who knew him, knew it was true.

The early morning dew sparkled
on lush green fairways as Caleb teed up his ball
with trembling hands, it had been months since he
had hit a ball and the "trouble maker"
side of Jess had managed to get them into a high
stakes game within moments after walking into the
pro shop. He laughed at himself as he realized,
he was more nervous over this golf game than any
life threatening mission he had ever accepted.
His mind raced, "What is it about this game?
Stay within yourself, don't over swing, stay down, follow through"
... "JUST HIT THE BALL!" He finally
told himself... Whatever he told himself, didn't
work, he hit a high drawing
ball that was obviously lost in the woods.
"It'll get better," his old friend
assured him. It did, they managed to break even
on the 18th hole.

Jess had taught him Golf and
Alpha's plan at about the same time. Caleb was a
natural, he was an exceptional student of both
subjects. Both topics completely
obsessed him, that was the irony of it all. Jess
always told him to put nothing before
Alpha ~ then hooked him on golf! Is that a
paradox or what?! There was so much to learn
about the hidden complexities of man and spirit.
The game of golf and the knowledge derived from
the spirit of Alpha would serve up answers and
understanding.

The now, middle aged Caleb had
joined the Ephysian Space Defense at an early
age. Caleb had earned "honors" as a
Strike Commander. After several years of service
he developed a problem with killing. He left the
Department of Defense and "hit the
road." The street had become his way of
life. Soon this lifestyle became boring and
meaningless as it violated the inherent class and
wisdom he naturally possessed. While a young man
in his early 20's, Jess had brought him out of
the dark and taught him the lessons from the
Ancient Book of Alpha. Jess
had explained the spiritual upheaval that had
taken place before the creation of man, why man
was here and how mankind fell from his appointed role ~ then he explained how
each individual must come back individually into
Alpha's Kingdom.
Jess explained
that many living beings are not of Alpha ~ ~ ~
Many beings are of Mesmerizer's
blood line. The killing of Mesmerizer's beings
was not the same as the killing of his own people
who were of Alpha's creation. Mesmerizer is the
spiritual power who is the sworn enemy of Alpha
and Alpha's followers. In
the beginning Alpha was the creator of every
living thing, including Mesmerizer ~ But
Mesmerizer plotted to overthrow Alpha and take
over the entire kingdom. He persuaded 1/3 of all
Alpha's creation into joining him in the
uprising. The take over failed and Mesmerizer and
his traitorous agents were cast out of the
kingdom. Since then it has been war between
Mesmerizer's Army of fallen Agents and Alpha's
people.

After too-many
years and a few bad deals, Caleb was in dire need
of money. He contracted with the Space Defense
Agency as a mercenary. Caleb no longer had a
problem with warring against followers of
Mesmerizer... He had become Ephysia's first line
of defense against Mezmerizer's force.

Jess had convinced Caleb that
it was their mission to be the link between Alpha
and the lost citizens of Ephysia. Caleb saw that
the Religious Outposts were dropping the ball as
they were too involved with teaching their
super-imposed man made doctrines. The leaders and
members of the Religious Outposts had become too
comfortable, as though they had come to think of
themselves as private clubs, not wanting to be
bothered with strangers who didn't already share
their common belief... The leaders and speakers of many
outposts would extend invitations to the unknowing, when an occasional guest
would come into the outposts
for a visit they would overwhelm them with
complicated requirements and "easy pay"
plans to support the very expensive trappings,
thus, turning the guest away. Some of the outpost
leaders even required them to
utter strange noises ~ speak in an unknown
language or as they explained, "they could
never be sure that the newcomer was of the right
spirit."
Caleb could never condone these
man-made laws imposed by the different outposts.
He knew Alpha's plan was very simple and rage
burned within him when he heard about all of the
senseless man-made laws that had been introduced
into Alpha's House ~ making it far too
complicated for mankind to come into the eternal
plan of the Kingdom. It was common for the
outposts to take a few lines from the Ancient
Book of Alpha... misinterpret them
and establish opposing beliefs, actually causing the different outposts
to be on bad terms with each other... ultimately hurting the purpose.
Caleb knew that this influence from Mesmerizer was brought
into the outposts to divide them and cause the teachings of Alpha to
become a source of anger and distaste among people. Caleb could not
be a part of these misguided outposts ~ even
though most of the things they stood for were
honorable and true, there was that small lie that
tainted the entire doctrine. The Ancient Book of
Alpha was clear about this ~ It commanded that no
man will "add to, take away or change the
contents."
He had a mission for Alpha
which could no longer be swept aside... The
unspoken mission had become an obcession!
