| Dear
John, God's
richest blessings to you in the name of our risen
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! I am slow to write
and I apologize for this. No excuse! I hope this
note finds you well! I have been praying about
your invitation to be a contributor to your web
site. I have so many things I want to write about
and yet to me this is a very serious task, to put
things out there for people to read and consider.
It is very serious before the Father also, I
believe, and I would never want to knowingly
mishandle the Word. I do occasionally write for
my local newspaper in the Religion page with
other contributors on a rotating basis. There is
so much error each Saturday, that I don't know
if I get through to anybody. I
am the only "lay" one that contributes,
I believe, and there is the gamut (as you know)
in the "Religious" field! All I
want to do is speak the truth in love and that is
truly where my heart is. Father covers all my
many shortcomings and only looks at my heart and
still loves me as He does with every believer.
Maybe some of the contributors of the newspaper
are believers also, I don't know. You speak a lot
about the book of Job. This is the one book that
really lays out human suffering and healing in
the Bible. Job's story (true story) moves from
suffering to believing to deliverance. I'm glad
you know this book by experience. I'm sure it has
made you more spiritually mature. The Word of God
is so amazing, so Right Now- even if it is
thousands of years ago, it is God speaking NOW!
After all, they are the words of LIFE, SPIRITUAL
LIFE to us! The more Word you hold in your heart,
the more of the life of God you will manifest in
your life. When one confesses Jesus Christ as
Lord -holy spirit enters in and one is then not
just body and soul(breath-life) but a three- part
being once again, gaining back what Adam had
forfeited so long ago: spirit. The connection man
was to have with God, putting man into God's
realm. To be able to have fellowship, to walk and
to talk with God. But even after receiving the
spirit- the mind must be renewed -according to
the Word of God, we put on-"the mind"
of Christ. To "put on" indicates works,
something we can and should do. The spirit is by
grace, the renewing of our minds is works we need
to do.The renewed mind is our key to the power.
We get a "new figure" from the truths
of God's Word and put those thoughts in our minds
and are in time become transformed-metamorphosis-
by the renewing of our minds according to the
Word of God. I used to think I was
"shy" for example. Well, now the Word
doesn't say-"Cheryl, you are my daughter
now, but full of shyness"- no, it says, that
it's Christ in me the hope of glory! Why be shy?
That's not what I am to confess about myself, I
am what the Word says I am!!! The thoughts I hold
in my mind are vital! Thoughts of death and the
world's train of thought or thoughts of life and
God's Word. Job was a wonderful man who loved and
reverenced God yet his fear opened the door
downward Job 3:25. Yet he never blamed God or
renounced God for his situation. He continued to
look to God, even with all his losses. then in
Job 42:1-5 he states that "up until this
time, while I had all this abundance upon my
life, I only heard of thee with the hearing of
the ear. But since I have come through this, I
now see." Many of us have mainly heard of
God by the hearing of the ears. But we grow
spiritually as we believe the Word of God. As we
believe, we see the promises of God come to pass
in our lives. As Job trusted in God's deliverance
and saw the greatness of who God was-Job got
meek, humbled and he prayed for his friends -
he got the deliverance. He received back
twice as much as he had before! I'm
believing you have the abundance of Job in every
area also, mostly in the area of seeing God and
knowing that you know Him more and more, John.
Sort of like Paul's prayer in Eph. that the eyes
of your understanding are enlightened. I'm
desiring this also in my walk. So, John I need to
go get my hubby and son (daughter is at college
now) some supper before there is trouble brewing
around here and I will write you again soon. I
will continue to pray for a topic to write about
and send you another e-mail soon.
God
Bless! Take care!!
Cheryl
