THE KING'S 12
Chapter 5

The air was sweet smelling, the day was good. The King and his 12

were headed for a big gathering and rally north of St. Louis. They

enjoyed the beautiful scenery in southern Missouri, rolling hills,

beautiful countryside, there was a good feeling in the air. One of the

12 said, "Let's get off the highway and stretch our legs." The big bus

rumbled off of the interstate. Jude was driving as he did most of the

time, he also watched after their finances. Andy looked down the

street, there was a terrific commotion. He said, "Take a right, let's

see what's going on."

About 10 of the local citizens had a young woman at bay. She was

scantily dressed and easily recognized as a prostitute. Several of the

women were yelling obscenities at the girl. Pete was first off the bus

with ALPHA 2. "HERE, HERE WHAT HAS THIS GIRL DONE ?"

ALPHA 2 shouted.

"She's a prostitute and we don't want her in our neighborhood,"

snarled one of the citizens. The girl was crying and said, "I don't

want to be here either, my car ran out of gas and I'm walking to work,

I have no money." "Yeah!" yelled one of the citizens, "she spent it

all on dope!" "Call the cops, we have an ordinance here protecting us

from her disease carrying kind," screamed an irate women. ALPHA 2

stepped forward and said, "let one of you who is without fault make

the call." He spoke with such authority the bunch broke up and

shamefully walked back to their homes.

"Where is your car young lady?" ALPHA 2 asked. "About 2 miles back,"

she said, crying and trembling. "Jude, get on the phone and get some

help out here for this girl." "Oh sir, thank you so much! I'll pay

you back," she said through her crying and sobbing tears. "There's no

need for that Mary, we have a fund just for this sort of thing. I

think you qualify." The girl said,"Sir! How did you know my name?"

"The one who sent me revealed it to me," ALPHA 2 said in a quiet tone.

ALPHA looked into her soul. "Are you happy with your life?" "No!" she

was very emphatic, "I hate the way I live. I used to think it was

cool, to live high all the time without having to punch a time clock

or answer to anyone. Now I would give anything to get back to a normal

way of life but I'm in a trap, I can't get out!"

About an hour passed before the service truck arrived with the gas.

Mary talked openly and told ALPHA 2 about her troubled life.

"You make the choice and I promise you the spirit will help you." When

he said this he communicated in the spirit, Mary's spirit was awakened

at that instant. She said, "I can't believe what I feel, I feel

safety, I feel love, I don't know what this is but I want to know this

joy the rest of my life." "You are now a part of the Kingdom Mary,"

ALPHA 2 assured her. She cried openly and was at peace with herself at

last. They exchanged addresses and phone numbers. She made them

promise they would keep her informed as to where they were with the

meetings. AlPHA 2 instructed Jude to give her five hundred dollars to

help her make a break with her past. Nate gave her the name of a

doctor who would help her get off drugs. Mary did not want to let them

go, she felt so good in their presence. They were so different from

any other men she had ever been around.

As the bus roared out of sight, Thad challenged Philip, "10 to 1 she

makes it." Philip bounced back with a lot of pride, "You won't make

any money off of me."

Mary stood there by her car as the bus disappeared from sight,

clutching their phone number and crying, knowing she was somehow

special, she would be OK now. She had stood in the presence of the

KING!
